- Represents the 31st Legislative District comprising: Newtown, Upper Makefield and Lower Makefield Townships, plus Yardley and Newtown Boroughs.
- Accepts campaign contributions only from individuals and has always renounced contributions from Political Action Committee's (PAC).
Is the cofounder of the Jefferson Reform Initiative, a bi-partisan
coalition of legislators seeking to change the legislative process to
restore openness and accountability.
- Completed work on Act 1 Special Session through a historic
House / Senate Conference Committee on tax reform. This
legislation was signed by Governor Rendell in June of 2006.
Is recognized by his colleagues for creative thinking and
hard work.
- Was the prime sponsor of Act 67 and 68 signed by Governor
Ridge, which were the first major changes to land planning law
in 30 years in Pennsylvania.
- Drafted legislation that will completely revamp the manner in
which storm water is managed within a County. (HB 88 - 2005)
Rewrote the Pennsylvania Child Labor Law which was the first
major revision to this law since 1915. (HB 89 - 2005)
- Wrote the legislation that put in place the uniform Construction
Code, the first time contractors in Pennsylvania were required to
follow proscribed construction standards that protect all consumers.

- Worked with a group of Pennsbury School District
Parents to develop legislation which, when adopted, will eliminate
teacher strikes. (HB 2635 - 2006)
- Became a member of the Executive Committee of the National
Conference of State Legislators in 2005. This organization provides
educational, logistical and lobbying support to all state legislatures.
- Is a member of the Streamlined Sales Tax Project, a national task
force seeking to harmonize states sales tax laws to make it less
costly for business to collect sales tax as an agent of the state.
- Was a Lower Makefield Township supervisor from 1988 -1992 and
served on the Planning Commission from 1981 through 1987.
- As Chairman of the Planning Commission, Lower Makefield passed
the first Farmland Preservation Ordinance in the State.
Worked with emergency services personnel and residents of the
31st district who were impacted by the recent floods to make sure
they had all needed resources.
- Has more than 30 years of experience in manufacturing and
distribution at the senior management level for several medium
size corporations.
- Is the President and Owner of a company that manufactures
instruments to monitor spatial environments.
Holds a U.S. Patent for the design of a specialized fire control
system. (U.S. Patent No 5257007)
- Has been married to wife Kaaren for 42 years, who is his first line
of support.
